In this article, we compare both approaches and explain which method is most suitable for each situation.  <\/p><h2>What do we mean by inspections?<\/h2><p>An inspection is the visual or technical check of a construction, installation, or environment. This can involve detecting damage, wear, deviations, or safety risks. Inspections are carried out in various sectors such as construction, industry, energy, and infrastructure.  <\/p><h2>Traditional inspections without drones<\/h2><p>In traditional inspections, the inspector is physically brought to the location to be checked. This can be done via ladders, scaffolding, aerial work platforms, or rope access techniques. <\/p><p><strong>Advantages<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Direct physical assessment<\/li><li>Suitable for small, accessible zones<\/li><li>Possibility for manual measurements or sampling<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Disadvantages<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Increased safety risks<\/li><li>Often time-consuming<\/li><li>Higher costs due to equipment and site preparation<\/li><li>Not always possible for hard-to-reach locations<\/li><\/ul><h2>Inspections with drones<\/h2><p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/topo4d.be\/en\/drone-inspection\/\">drone inspections<\/a>, images and data are collected remotely using drones equipped with cameras or sensors, such as with <a href=\"https:\/\/topo4d.be\/en\/thermography\/\">thermography<\/a>.
